LOOK FOR LOVE  NewYalloppin City

words and music by Joey 'G-Clef' Cavaseno as performed by The Yalloppin Hounds featuring Vickie Natale, vocals

Look for Love.. It can run but it can't really hide It's so close that we take it in stride when we look, Love has took all our pride and our game and now all that remains Is our love, It's that feeling replacing the pain, It's the force that will help us maintain in the dark, it's a spark that ignites from within... then it's time to give in to the Faith that lives in our hearts, you must stop and give it a chance Don't be scared of doing your part, Like the Hounds when we make you dance... Hear the sound of the rising sun, Feel the warmth as it shines from above, Be around when all this is done... through love....through love.... We are one... though they're trying to keep us apart, But our souls and our minds are too smart, to give in, they can't win when you're strong in your faith, that is always enough... through love....

This song is from the group I had in 1985 with Jeremy Bacon, Ray Holmes, and Tyler Mitchell, aka the 'best group that never happened.' I wrote the lyrics in 1998 and updated it for the Swing Scene. The lyrics refer to the optimistic outlook that helps keep people going, and focuses our attention to the powerful force that Love is. Twenty year old prodigy, Vickie Natale, brings the swinging exuberance, and sings it like she wrote it! For the dancers, its a medium tempo, mainstream swing with a Latin bridge.
