You're Taken NewYalloppin City
words and music by Joey "G-Clef" Cavaseno, as performed by the Yalloppin Hounds, featuring Peter Hartmann
So now you're taken, Could it be the love that we once shared's forever gone? My heart's forsaken, So tell me did I wait too long to sing this song to you? You say he loves you, Does he tell you that your the inspiration for the sun? Is he the one who, is so close he can read your mind, do your souls combine as one? So long I'd hoped that you'd return to me, My love for you, it still burns in me, every day, even now..... My heart is breaking, And although it was broken once before it healed all wrong. The love your making, Don't you think it should be with me, can't you set me free one more time? Hope's replaced by memories...you're taken.....
This song is the first sequel to the lost-love saga from "Ghetto Swing Extreme". At our last chapter, we fantasized ( "Where Have You Been") on a return to love lost. However, reality soon checks in to reveal that love does not return, in fact, we soon learn of the news that there is someone else in the person's life. Of course, we are the better person for the affected, but it surely seems a bit more hopeless now that the chance for us to prove it might come along. Peter Hartmann, our bassist, displays his warm, relaxing interpretation, as he portrays the forlorn. This song is performed as a slow-medium swing.
